We will be using the, “Teach Me Italian” workbooks, along with other resources. No need to purchase. We will also be using coloring sheets regarding art, music, culture and the geography of Italy, in the classroom. Mostly, we will be “living” and experiencing the activities. No, we don't have "playground" equipment! We have a park, and a piazza! A world of imagination will happen, because we are allowing the child's mind and spirit to move them. They don't "need" the external playground to climb on. They have their minds. They will run, and jump, and play ball, or just sit quietly, and contemplate the world in front of them, or inside of them. ANYONE can have a playground to climb on. We have our imaginations, and a beautiful park!

We will be singing in Italian, as well as learning the art, music, geography, history and heritage of Italy.

Children in attendance will be very well prepared for kindergarten. We will exceed the standards set by the state in regard to entering kindergarten. They will also be bi-lingual! The more time spent with us, the better prepared they will become. Our Italian language instructors will work along-side our English speaking teachers, and parents to provide a seamless learning experience for your child.

               Spring/Summer/Winter Break/School Holiday Drop In  & Dopo-Scuola Information

The time from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. will be our “quiet” time. Napping is NOT forced, but quiet rest is encouraged. Older children may simply read, just rest quietly, or choose to do a quiet activity.

At 2:30 p.m. Children will wash up for snack. Those remaining after 1:00 p.m. will enjoy outside activities, language activities, and cultural workshops. Dopo-Scuola children who arrive by 3:30 p.m.will also be given a snack, and have the opportunity to work on homework from their “other” school as well.

At 4:15 p.m., the children in the Dopo-Scuola will begin work with their Italian language Instructor. The instructors will meet and greet all children in Italian and English. These children should stay until at least 5:30 p.m. in order to gain all that is offered from the program.

All children regardless of age, or time spent with us, will all have the same access to our Reggio Emilia programming, and Italian language and culture classes.

All programming is age-appropriate. Although we believe in "mixed- age" groups being together, we certainly do not have our younger children using the same curriculum as the older students. All curriculum is well thought out, and planned with the children's best interest, and learning in mind! This is why we are so lucky to have such a wonderful student/teacher ratio-the children's needs are always being met.
